V3, I15
I’m sorry, friends. I thought I’d be up for writing Thursday! this week. We held my Dad’s funeral service yesterday and it went far better than I anticipated. I feel okay, aside from the occasional ambushes of memory, except…I don’t have a darned thing to write I think you’d find useful or interesting. I hope to be better for you next week, but…I honestly don’t know. I don’t quite know what’s wrong. Maybe I’ve just been too busy with…everything.
On the good side of things, the anthology with my story in is is to for you and all your family and friends to buy! It’s called Postcards from Mars and I think you’ll like a bunch of the stories in it, including mine, called “The Paper Swans of Ellendell”. Our challenge as writers was to invent an interesting story in only 50 words, based on a random photographic prompt. I’m very happy with what I did and proud to show it to the world as my first professional sale.
Anyhow, that’s it for this week. Again, I’m sorry to have pulled a giant blank this week. Next week should be better.

I'm happy that it went better than expected though I'm sure it's not free from pain. Don't worry, we'll still be here when you're ready to write something for Thursday! again. Take the time you need, Jimmy.
No need to be sorry, Jimmie. Take all of the time that you need. And if you're overcome with occasional ambushes of memory, perhaps you can write about that. Even if it is something that you don't feel you can share with us, I think it will do you good to write about anything and everything that comes to mind related to your dad, family, grief, love, memories, etc.
Praying for you and your family, especially your mom. I'm so sorry for your loss. Praying you all feel the comfort of our Savior, Whom I imagine your dad is in the presence of right now. What an amazing thought!
