The Thursday! Newsletter 2-7: Yet Here We Are
Volume 2, Issue 7
I will not keep you long this week. We are still not done with repairs at our apartment, which has me well out of sorts and working off a terribly under-powered laptop. My own creative mojo is pretty much stuck behind a wall of weariness and disappointment. We have not a single Christmas decoration up and I've indulged in none of my usual seasonal traditions, like watching a couple favorite television specials or listening to Messiah (Andrew David and Toronto, if you please. It is glorious.). In short, I'm feeling tired and crummy and I don't know that I have anything particularly encouraging to say except this:
Merry Christmas.
I am glad you are here. I am glad you take time to read what I have to say. I am glad you share your dreams, struggles, losses and victories with me. I am glad you cut me slack on my mistakes and root me on when I bag the occasional win. Thank you.
The world, as we all know too well, is hard and spares none of us. We each have our difficulties and trials. Bad stuff happens. We get overcome and swamped. Our hearts carry so much care that it feels like we've filled our chests with lead. Yet here we are, doing our things and making our stuff. We come to the table again and again, even when the world seems to care not a single whit for anything we do. We offer our art to the world when we are sad and tired and beleaguered and weighed down. We continue on.
That, to my mind, is a big deal. Quitting is easy. Sometimes -- most times -- quitting seems like the best and most convenient option. But we don't. We keep on doing what we do, living how we live, loving those around us, and lifting everyone we can. We can't change the whole world but we can make little bits of it better here and there.
And we do. You do. You most definitely do
I am glad for that and for you.
Merry Christmas. May the matchless gift God gave a thoughtless and uncaring world so long ago fill you with joy unspeakable. See you all next week.

One Last Thing
This is where I ask you to help me out. I can't share Thursday! nearly as well as you can so if you know someone who might like what we have here, forward this along or show them the archives.
You can also buy or share my cool book, give it a solid review, or get an autographed copy (ask and I'll tell you how!).
If you're seeing Thursday! for the first time, HI! I'm glad to meet you. If you want more, subscribe right here.
As always, you can always talk back to me by hitting the reply button! I can't promise I'll always answer back, because I'm quite forgetful, but I'll read everything you send.
